Dan Simonson, CRNA, MHPA, is the Chief Anesthetist and Managing Partner of the Spokane Eye Surgery Center in Spokane, Washington, where he has practiced ophthalmic anesthesia since 1986. He has lectured and published widely on the subject of anesthesia outcomes, ophthalmic anesthesia, personal computers and their use in anesthesia, and reimbursement issues. His most recent published work is “CRNA Prescribing Practices: The Washington State Experience” published 2011 in the AANA Journal.

In addition to his CRNA degree, Mr. Simonson has a Master’s degree in Health Policy and Administration from Washington State University, where he is currently Adjunct Faculty in both the Health Policy and Administration Department and the School of Nursing. He is past President of the Washington Association of Nurse Anesthetists, on the Board of Directors of the Washington Ambulatory Surgery Center Association (WASCA) and has just finished a term as Director of Region 5 of the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists (2009-2011).
